Specialized Expertise Enhances Structural Evaluations, Milestone Inspections & Recertifications
MIAMI — DDA Forensics is proud to announce that Dr. Haitham Ibrahim, Ph.D., P.E., Structural Engineer, earned two Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) certifications: Level 1 Unbonded PT Installation Certification and Level 1 Unbonded PT Repair, Rehabilitation and Strengthening Certification. This education reflects specialized knowledge in evaluating existing post-tensioned concrete structures, identifying deterioration or tendon damage, and developing restoration strategies that help restore structural performance while supporting long-term durability and safety.

Dr. Ibrahim leads DDA Forensics’ Milestone Inspection & Recertification Division, overseeing inspections, structural evaluations and property condition assessments throughout Florida. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering and MSc, Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering) from Florida International University. His background combines hands-on experience in structural restoration with cutting-edge research in structural and wind engineering, including postdoctoral research at FIU and contributions to post-hurricane damage assessments through the Structural Extreme Events Reconnaissance (StEER) Network. Committed to ongoing education and research, he has conducted extensive large-scale experiments at the National Science Foundation (NSF) NHERI Wall of Wind. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in leading journals and conferences, including the Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, the Journal of Building Engineering, and Engineering Structures. His work continues to advance understanding in wind engineering, structural dynamics, and the performance of buildings under extreme wind events.

The Level 1 Unbonded PT Installation Certification provides foundational training in the installation and inspection of single-strand unbonded post-tensioning systems used in elevated concrete structures. Engineers gain an extensive understanding of post-tensioning principles, installation procedures, inspection requirements, industry standards, and quality control practices. This certification establishes the technical foundation needed to help ensure post-tensioned systems are installed correctly, perform as designed, and meet the highest standards for structural safety and long-term durability.
The Level 1 Unbonded PT Repair, Rehabilitation & Strengthening Certification recognizes advanced training in the evaluation and restoration of single-strand unbonded post-tensioned concrete systems used in high-rise and elevated structures. Engineers learn specialized expertise in structural assessments, repair techniques, rehabilitation strategies, safety practices, and strengthening methods, providing clients with greater confidence that complex post-tensioned buildings are evaluated and restored using current industry standards and best practices.
