We’re excited to celebrate one of our amazing founders, Brian Peterson! His unwavering leadership, extensive background and industry experience are key components that continue to drive our success.

Why did you launch DDA Forensics?

DDA Forensics was born from the experience and knowledge of evaluating claims over many years. We identified a disconnect between decision-makers and the technical experts who provide essential information. We saw a need for an Engineering and Building Consultant firm that understands the questions that needed to be answered from an industry standpoint, that could also be explained by people with expertise in the field of Civil Engineering.

We have been extremely successful in bridging that gap with our data-driven approach. We set out to build a company that not only excels in Engineering and Building Consulting services, but also clearly communicates complex issues in ways clients can understand. We have the unique ability to empower our clients with precise insights, enabling them to fulfill their obligations with confidence and help them communicate with their clients in a way they can easily digest.

Why are you passionate about the Industry?

My passion stems from the pursuit of accuracy and the drive to ensure that opinions and conclusions are grounded in true expertise. I believe in collaboration. We all need to work together to improve the industry and the day-to-day claims environment. Most people inherently want to get things right in the end. By contributing to that process, we’re making a meaningful impact with our company culture and expert team at DDA Forensics.

What do you enjoy most about working with DDA Forensics clients?

Problem-solving has always been a core part of who I am. I enjoy speaking with our clients and assisting them with solutions. Leading our team and growing DDA to support even more clients across the southeast is incredibly rewarding.  Helping our clients navigate complex challenges and delivering meaningful outcomes is truly fulfilling.

What do you like most about the DDA Forensics company culture that you’ve built?

At DDA Forensics, we’ve cultivated a culture that values both technical expertise and exceptional communication. Our Engineers, Building Consultants and Contractors are true experts in their fields, but what sets them apart is their ability to translate complex conclusions into clear, digestible information for our clients. This ensures that even the most intricate issues are presented in a way that empowers our clients to make confident decisions. When bringing new members onto our team, we prioritize not only their technical skills but also their ability to align with our culture of collaboration and client-focused problem-solving.

What do you think is your biggest business strength?

Our greatest strength lies in our unparalleled expertise in the claims industry. With decades of experience, we’ve developed an in-depth understanding of its complexities and nuances. Our team members bring their own expertise but also continuously expand their knowledge, education, licenses and accreditations. We continually leverage this expertise to educate our clients, equipping them with updated, accurate, concrete facts to make informed and confident decisions. Our clients rely on us for clear, concise, conclusive results on every claim.

What are some successes or milestones you’ve achieved at DDA Forensics?

I’m excited to say that we have quite a few milestones to share!

DDA Forensics has experienced significant growth, expanding our footprint to serve seven states across the southeast U.S. This expansion reflects our dedication to meeting client needs with a broad presence, while delivering the same trusted quality that our clients rely on.

We recently launched a Continuing Education program and we offer multiple courses tailored to carriers and attorneys. We’re committed to professional development and leadership and sharing that knowledge to help the industry improve.

Our expert team leads the way in education, holding multiple licenses, advanced accreditations, and ongoing partnerships with various research facilities. We’ve partnered with Florida International University’s NHERI Wall of Wind to contribute to ongoing research in the area of wind performance. We also hold research partnerships with Florida Tech, Texas Tech and the Wind Hazard and Infrastructure Performance Center (WHIPC). Their mission is to pursue research of interest to industry and government agencies to enhance the resiliency of buildings and infrastructure to extreme windstorms such as hurricanes and tornadoes. We’re so excited to be selected as a research partner to help develop new solutions and products to reduce the impact of severe weather events on buildings and infrastructure, while also educating the next generation of professionals.

We prioritize ongoing education to stay ahead of emerging trends and challenges, ensuring that we continue to deliver unparalleled expertise and solutions to our clients. These achievements underscore our dedication to growth, education, and excellence in everything we do.

Share a fun fact about you!

I was a Boy Scout when I was younger, and today I have the privilege of serving as the Cubmaster for my son’s Pack 312 in Miami. It’s so rewarding to shape the future leaders of tomorrow by providing them with knowledge that frankly is just not provided to them in today’s digital age.

Teaching has always been a passion of mine, whether it was leading a high school marching band, coaching youth tennis, managing corporate offices, or even teaching my sister-in-law how to change a tire. I’m grateful that I’m able to share that passion in my business. Whether it’s helping catastrophe victims organize documentation for claims, showing my employees how to handle various situations in the industry, mentoring students, or educating clients to empower their decision-making, it’s all rewarding. I love learning and, more importantly, passing that knowledge on to others, helping us all tackle life’s challenges more effectively.
