DDA Forensics Managing Partner, Brian Peterson, presented at the 12th Annual Orlando Claims Association (OCA) Continuing Education Seminar & Cook-Off in Maitland, Florida. Peterson shared tips in “Mediations: The Importance of a Knowledgeable Corporate Representative” on March 7 from 12:05-1 p.m. with Nicole Fluet, Director at Galloway Johnson Tompkins Burr & Smith.
Peterson, a property insurance expert consultant, certified mediator, and corporate representative with over 15 years of experience, has extensive knowledge in insurance claims handling. He helps carriers and attorneys accurately settle a variety of complex residential and commercial claims. He has managed numerous claims for hurricanes Ian, Michael, Irma in Florida; hurricane Ida in Louisiana; as well as catastrophe response and business interruption claims in Alabama and Mississippi related to the BP Oil Spill. Prior to launching DDAF, Peterson worked for national insurance carriers as a field adjuster, claims adjuster, litigation and mediation specialist.

The OCA is a membership organization comprised of insurance claims adjusters and industry professionals. The Orlando Claims Association holds networking events, annual meetings, classes and provides continuing education credits to members throughout Orlando. This one-of-a-kind event allows the claims community to gather, earn continuing education credits, mingle with the industry’s finest support vendors, and taste-test BBQ of all different flavors and styles. The event started at 8 a.m. and included networking, breakout sessions, and a law and ethics update course. At 1 p.m., 15 cooking teams prepared their best ribs, chicken, and side dishes. Teams will compete for trophies and bragging rights by earning votes and submitting to a blind taste test with eight judges. The event ended at 3:30 p.m. with cook-off winners and lots of prizes.
